Born in Esbjerg, Jutland on July 22nd 1850. Died in Plaistow (England) 11/2/1922

The Artist came to England for the Royal Wedding of the Prince of Wales and Princess Alexandria. Queen Victoria gave him a Grace and Favour apartment at Windsor.

On September 10th 1887, he married Alice Dickens in York Square, Stepney.

He exhibited in

the Royal Academy of Copenhagen and it is believed in London.

He is commonly known as Nils H. Christiansen. His works are

usually of Scandinavian Fjord scenes or Epping Forest and Windsor Park.

His works appear regularly in the Major Auctions and one of them sold for £2,300 (Plus premium) at an auction in Surrey in 1998

We are indebted to David Christiansen, his Grandson, for most of this information.

Another nice warm work by Christiansen, 24"x16", and in a nice frame (probably original).
