Edward H Niemann (the son of Edward H Niemann who lived from 1813-1876) exhibited between 1863 and 1867. His style and subject matter was very similar to his father's. They were both known for painting views of the Thames and the River Swale (particularly around Richmond) in Yorkshire.

River Landscape

Oil on canvas 41cmx65cm, signed and framed. This painting is in generally good order although it has suffered at some time in it's life from a very small bit of damage which has been professionally repaired (many years ago). It is only noticeable by looking at the back to see where the repair is! Not titled, but I believe that it is a view of The Swale in Yorkshire.
