Antique and Collectors Paintings » Alfred Fontville de Breanski (Jnr)

Alfred Fontville de Breanski (Jnr) lived from 1877 to 1957. He was the son of

the very famous Alfred de Breanski Snr (1852-1928) and the nephew of Gustave de Breanski (circa 1856-1898). Taught by his

father, unsurprisingly his works are somewhat similar, albeit rather more impressionist. His works concentrate in particular on

the effects of sunlight on the Highland secenery and the painting shown is a prime example of this with the sunbeams coming

through the clouds with great subtlety. He is known to have exhibited both at the Royal Academy and at the Royal Society of

British Artists.
