French Artists » Roger de la Corbiere

The artist lived from 1893 to 1974. Internationally famous for his beach scenes with waves

gently lapping on the shore with either the moonlight giving a silvery effect or the sunsetting (or rising) giving a warmth of

image. He exhibited at the Paris Salon for 35 years and was awarded the Siolver Medal in 1954. He also received the Bronze

medal of the Salon des Independents in 1957.

He usually worked in and around the Brittany area.

Eminent Galleries such as

Stacey-Marks of Eastbourne exhibited and successfully sold his works for many years. His daughter, Michelle, carried the

familky tradition on painting similar scenes.

Brent, Cote du Nord

Perhaps the most delicate of colouring I have ever seen from this artist. As usual with his

larger works, it is ionscribed verso with the title. Oil on canvas 24"x36", signed and framed and in good order.
