Antique and Collectors Paintings » Lucien Potronat

(1889 -1974)
Born in Lyons (France) where he grew up and completed his artistic training and

studies. Then he moved to Paris where, by the end of World Wart I, he was regularly exhibiting at the Paris Salon (occasionally

using the Nomme de Brush ‘Jacques Warner’).

In the late 1930s, he moved to the French Riviera where he remained until the

end of his life. Fascinated by the light and warmth of the area, his subject matter captured this depicting the local coastline

with whitewashed villas covered in trailing bougainvillaea near the distinctive blue of the Med under the azure skies.
